I wanted to paint. I googled the images of snow. There popped up a picture of plum blossom in snow. So I did so.
This was done at home. The background was tempera and the paints were waterolor and acrylic.
Here is a video of the making.

I planned to do a winter tree with students.
I showed some of the pictures of Tahoe snow in class and let the middle school students paint. The result is not very satisfactory. They seemed a bit lost. Some did better some not.
So I did this painting by myself and show the video to elementary class. They saw the making of it and they did so much better. I am happy.
Here is a video of the painting in the making.

I used to try painting with hibiscus tea. Every time the bright red color turned to blue as soon as it got to paper. I have tried all kinds of paper, photo copy or water color, but there was no exception. It turned blue.
I thought it was the basic chemical (碱性化学品)in the paper that make this. So today I added the juice of half a lemon and boiled it.
Still, it came out blue.
I fail to understand why.

The scribbling itself looked very simple but the content of this video was more than that. The repetitive design allowed me to draw while thinking and murmuring. I started my story of 大懒和勤进。
This one is Dalan took test and designed secrete code.
I also started Dalan too lazy to buy fast food, and did cooking instead.
Here is a video of it.

I came back home and found the instruction and made it.
The origianl origami version is quite strict, or in another word, stiff.
I pressed it down and flattened it. I felt this way gave the flower more dynamic.

Be lazy, don't bother to try to make it complicate. Tissue paper flower is pretty and easy, by definition. It will always turn out good.
Lay a few layers of tissue paper and fold, and then tie with pipe cleaner or twist wire or rubber band or any thread. Lift up the paper. Done.
I guess it pretty because tissue paper is soft, light, semi transparent. It works very well with crinkling. Good for young or naughty hands.
Here is video of it.
Of course, you can also make it fancier or more complicate by cutting and dying. I am going to do that right now.
See you later, aligator and don't forget the tissue paper!!
There you go.
